The training program brought together more than 45 participants representing diverse academic and research backgrounds from higher education institutions in Pokhara, including Gandaki University, Pokhara University, Prithvi Narayan Campus, and Pokhara Nursing Campus. The event served as an important platform for fostering collaborative learning and promoting best practices in research among faculty members, researchers, and graduate scholars.

The program featured eight distinguished resource persons with expertise in various disciplines of research and academia. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and practical insights, participants were introduced to fundamental principles and emerging issues related to research ethics and integrity.

The training primarily focused on strengthening research integrity, ethical and responsible research practices, publication ethics, and institutional responsibilities in conducting, managing, and disseminating research. Key themes included ethical decision-making in research, plagiarism prevention, responsible authorship, data management, peer review ethics, and compliance with institutional and national research guidelines.

Speaking on the significance of the program, organizers emphasized that responsible conduct of research has become increasingly important in today’s academic and research environment. Funding agencies, regulatory bodies, and academic institutions worldwide are placing greater emphasis on ethical accountability, transparency, and integrity in research processes and outputs. Therefore, strengthening researchers’ capacity in ethical research practices is essential for ensuring the quality, credibility, and societal relevance of scholarly work.
