Pokhara, Nepal – A delegation from Gyeongsang National University (GNU), South Korea, visited Gandaki University (GU) for an interaction program aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration between the two universities.
The visit, held at the GU, brought together academic leaders, researchers, and faculty members from both institutions to explore avenues for deeper engagement in education, research, and innovation.
Dr. Sushil Bhandari, Research Director of the Research Center, Invention and Innovation Center (RC-II), presented GU’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen academia-industry collaboration. He also proposed concrete avenues for deepening the GU-GNU partnership.
Professors Park Sang-Hyeok and Yang Eun Yong highlighted GNU’s ongoing projects in Nepal and elaborated on their institution’s successful model of industry-academia cooperation. The GNU delegation delivered a keynote presentation, followed by an engaging interactive session with GU faculty members and students.
Dr. Dhakaram Bhandari, Registrar of GU, outlined the university’s future direction, emphasizing innovation-oriented, market-driven academic programs and startups designed to produce industry-ready graduates and foster a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This visit marks a significant step in GU’s ongoing efforts to expand international academic partnerships and advance collaboration in education, innovation, and industry engagement.
Both institutions have expressed commitment to exploring joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programs, and student mobility opportunities in the coming months.
